Daffodils along the verge,
Hazel catkins in the lane.
Snowdrops shyly bow their heads,
Sparkling with early morning rain.
Birds fly to and fro with twigs,
Busily building nests.
Bluebell shoots begin to show,
And soon will look their best.
Resplendent in suburban gardens
Cherry trees, pink and white.
Purple swathes of crocus flowers,
Seem to pop up overnight.
Green haze o’er every branch and bush,
Blackbirds on the wing.
Nature takes our breathe away,
With these harbingers of Spring.
