A Photo a Day for 100 Days

This  dilapidated old bird-table stands in an over-grown area of a garden in the village.

Unloved and neglected, it is left alone, to slowly rot away.  Ivy has become entangled around the decaying, wooden legs and a forlorn, chipped ceramic dish hangs on rusted chains from the crumbling construction.

No birds visit; they have long since learned that there is nothing for them. No chirping starlings fight over a tasty morsel; no robins splash in the filthy,  moss-covered water-dish.  The bird house is shunned and shabby and will eventually disintegrate and become a weed-covered pile of rotted wood.

But I like to think how it could be ……………….. with just a little love and attention.

All it needs is a snippet of tender care.  A lick of paint; a small tin of wood preserver.

It needs to be brought into the light; put centre-stage.

With the china dish washed and filled with fresh water……. bird seed and peanut feeders hanging all around ……… the birds would soon return.  The old bird-table would, once again, become useful; feel needed.

And so it is with people …………… that’s all they need too………………………..
